Symposium

Brendon Simon discuss the $818M ION rapid transit project

The PEO Grandriver Chapter successfully conducted its annual symposium last June 13, 2015 at the Royal Brock Hotel and Conference Center in Guelph.  It was participated by 24 members of the profession and some students.  Three speakers shared their technical knowledge and skills to the participants.  Brendon Simon from the Region of Waterloo discussed the topic of Engineering the ION Rapid Transit.  Karim Ibrahim, an expert in building automation and industrial maintenance shared on the topic of Modern Smart Industrial Buildings and concluded by an intensive workshop entitled Flipping the Iceberg by personal power coach and world class speaker Gregory C N Smith.

Positive comments were received from the participants.  It was a morning filled with learning and soft skill development. It was worth the time and money to be in this kind of professional enrichment activity. The education committee, who organized the symposium, is looking forward to a bigger event next year.  Please contact  education@grandriverpeo.ca if you want to speak and share your technical expertise to your colleagues.
